Default Energy Recharge

I haven't really paid a whole lot of attention to the new Nightfall chapter, but while playing a bit of the preview weekend PvE event I saw that the Dervish has a +4 pips of energy recharge while the paragon only has +2 pips of energy recharge. What gives??? From what I can tell the Dervish is somewhat a melee fighter while the Paragon is a ranged fighter so why the difference in energy recharge?

Because a Paragon is like a warrior at range with a crazy energy management Primary attribute.

I have played both characters in the PvP and full Nightfal lpreview and have found that even with 4 pips of regen i tend to run out of energy faster with the dervish. If you know how to play your paragon properly you never run out of energy, rarely would my paragon get below 10 energy fro more than a few seconds.

Because the paragon uses adrenaline as well to power their attacks and shouts, and their energy management attribute helps them recover energy at much more efficient rate compared to others.

Could someone please elaborate on the ‘Energy Management Attribute’ that has been mentioned above?

The only thing I noticed was every time I used a Chant or a Shout I would gain energy. But from what I could tell the amount gained was in direct proportion to my ‘Sun-Spear Rank’ I had varied the attribute points in Command, Motivation & Leadership and saw no change in the amount of energy gained using these types of skills. But I had not at any time during testing lowered my points in Spear Mastery.

Leadership.

at 2 leadership, you get 1 energy per shout, as one ally is affected
at 4, you gain 2 energy if 2 allies are affected by your shout.
at 12, you gain 6 energy if 6 allies are affected by your shout.

I didnt get it at first, but yknow.

1 adren shout covers energy needs of most builds. Something like "Go for the eyes" and you should be pretty much riding stable energy wave. Well unless some mesmer decides to drain you.

Liam

I thank you for clarifying that for me. I obviously didn’t do enough ‘proper’ testing. I was looking in the wrong place.

Even at low lvls I really never came into energy problems with my paragon during the event. I found a build that had a good balance with adrenaline and energy skills. Also "Watch Yourself" on a P/W with attributes in Leadership works well for energy regen.
